A piece of history
Sint-Stevens-Woluwe is named after the Woluwe running through the municipality. This small river has its natural source in the heart of the Sonian Forest and ripples past the capital over a distance of about 21 kilometres.
With its pure water, the Woluwe is unique among the waterways of Brussels’ suburbs and offers an ideal habitat for birds and aquatic animals that have made the various tributaries and adjacent ponds their home.
